Automotive Retrospective
I was browsing through some pictures from last year and I forgot all about a set I did in the cold winter of Jan 2010.
Imagine -10C and my numb fingers trying to fiddle around with my cold metal car rig meanwhile trying keep the batteries alive in the camera at the same time. The soundtrack to my chattering teeth was the deep rumble of a 360bhp turbonutter car echoing through a still and deserted underground carpark.
Happy days 🙂

Subaru Anniversary Event at Prodrive
Who would have thought that Subaru would take their family saloon and turn it into a fire breathing monster…?
That’s what they did with the Impreza back in the late 80’s / early 90’s. Bung in a turbo and revise the chassis and handling and off it goes like a rocket.
Subaru were so good at this that they won several WRC events, and along with those they often released ‘special edition’ cars.
One such car was the legendary ‘P1‘ so-called due to the affiliation with the racing/tuning company Prodrive.Same idea as Ford and Cosworth, or Mercedes and AMG, or Porsche and RUF.
The reason I’m writing this entry is because the P1 was released in 2000 and this year marks it’s decade in action.
So a bunch of guys got together and arranged a meet up with as many P1’s as they could get together (as well as other cars). Prodrive were kind enough to host the event at at their UK HQ in Banbury, Oxford and the date was set – 9th March 2010I popped up and took the camera with me and …. if you’re reading this then that’s what you’re waiting for, so below is a selection of images from the couple of hours I was there meandering around 🙂

The Gumball 3000 GRD Built Subaru STi Promotions Car
James Greenwood of Greenwood Racing Developments asked if I could take some pictures of a car that his tuning company built on Saturday just gone.
So I turned up at the GRD‘ workshop and I saw the Gumball 3000 Promotions car sitting in front of me.It turns out GRD built the Stage4 500+bhp Subaru (owned by Andrew Brimecome) that Gumball use for brand promotion
James wanted some pictures of the car for the GRD website, so he passed me the keys and disappeared.Andrew enters the Gumball 3000 in his 1250bhp Viper and lets them use his Subaru whenever they want.
It’s currently lined up to be at a trade show in September and he’s also giving it to them to use in next year’s Gumball. He thinks it may be the Jackass guys, but the celebrity has yet to be selectedAn hour after starting taking shots, Andrew turned up and after chatting for a bit he called some friends so I could do some rolling shots.
These are some of the edited images from the shoot:
